Academician Professor Oleg Figovsky
Development of Science and Technology
in 2020–2025
Academician Oleg Figovsky
Abstract.
The monograph of Academician Oleg Figovsky offers the reader his original review works of recent years in various fields of modern science and technology. This book will give the reader a fairly complete and objective idea of the new ideology in science and technology, including a systematic analysis of patents created in various countries of the world.
In particular, it considers areas such as:
- 3D printing: in construction, in industry, in medicine;
- Science and technology in countries around the world, such as: France, Germany, Israel, USA, India, Canada, Benelux countries, Japan, in the Arab world, China’s progress in the field of AI.
Examples of new patents in the field of innovation of new materials, e.g. RUBCON polymer concrete, are given.
In conclusion, the topics of the new scientific ideology and directions are raised: innovation management, the ideology of Silicon Valley, the ways of development of military technologies, the age of artificial intelligence, the use of lasers in defense and industry, and the ways of development of military technologies.

A few things about a prominent versatile famous scientist:
Oleg Figovsky is a leading world scientist in the field of novel materials technologies Israeli-Russian scientist, inventor and professor in the fields of nanotechnology, materials science, and chemical engineering. He is particularly recognized for his contribution to the development of “green” and corrosion-resistant composite materials.
The following are his areas of activity and key points in his career:
- Innovation and inventions: Pigovsky has over 500 registered inventions and patents worldwide. One of his earliest and most famous inventions is the “Bustilat” glue , which was very common in the Soviet Union.
- Green nanotechnology: He is considered the main inventor of the concept of “Green Polyurethane” — a technology for the production of polyurethane without the use of toxic isocyanates, for which he has won prestigious international awards.
- Academic and managerial positions:
- Founder and R&D Manager of the Polymate International Nanotechnology Research Center in Israel.
- President of the Israeli Inventors Association (IAI).
- Chair of the UNESCO Chair for “Green Chemistry”.
- Academies: He is a member of the European Academy of Sciences and a foreign member of two academies of sciences in Russia (REA and RAACS).
- Editorial and Publications: Figovsky serves as the editor-in-chief of several scientific journals, including Scientific Israel – Technological Advantages and The Open Corrosion Journal. He has published hundreds of scientific articles and dozens of books in his fields of expertise.
Figovsky was born on April 9, 1940, and his early education and career developed in the Soviet Union (at the Moscow Institute of Civil Engineering) before moving to Israel and the United States.
